Description:
Of Russian descent, Olga Rauf came to Cyprus in 1925 where she stayed with the Classen family in the Lusignan House, Nicosia. She taught music at the American Academy in Larnaca. In 1927, she married the Turkish Cypriot Doctor Mehmet Rauf Bodamyalızade. She is regarded one of the first Turkish Cypriot artists. Her style is of the traditional school of representational art with influences from the Russian school of art. This is apparent in the strong, vivid colours in the watercolour of the Cyprus Hills. She presents the different shades of light in a variety of vivid colours
