A lively scene depicting Caterina Cornaro's return to Venice after agreeing to abdicate the throne of Cyprus in favour of the Doge of Venice, Agostino Barbarigo. In this scene, Cornaro can be seen disembarking from the Bucentaur, the ceremonial barge of the Doges of Venice. Horns are being blown both left and right and a variety of people crowd the square
