Description:
Caterina Cornaro, still wearing her crown and standing in an elevated position amongst a crowd of onlookers, makes a symbolic exchange with Doge Agostino Barbarigo. She has relinquished the keys of her reign, visible on a tray held by a nealing figure. A sceptre is in the process of being handed over. The Doge stands on the far right of the scene, eager to receive the surrendered regalia. Caterina Cornaro returned from Cyprus after great pressure to abdicate and received the town and castle of Asolo in exchange
