Cyprus, Troodos

Creator:

Perini

Tarih:

ca. 1960

Inscriptions:

Inscribed bottom right: Πεδιαίος [Pediaios] Perini CYPRUS

Description:

A small watercolour of a Troodos mountain side covered in green verdure. A tiled roof is just visible in the lower lefthand corner. In the right hand corner, along with the artists surname and the word CYPRUS, there is what appears to be the word Πεδιαίος, although it is difficult to discern with certainty. If this is the case, then this painting might depict the area near the headwater of Cyprus' longest river, the Pedieos, and that tiny glimpse of tiled roof just might be Machairas Monastery which stands nearby
