The view of St. Nicholas cathedral in Famagusta taken from this standpoint affords a clear picture of the Franciscan monastery besides the cathedral as well as the Latin Archbishop’s mansion which was used in the mid-twentieth century as a municipal market. It still has its little dome protruding from the roof and echoing the dome of the Moslem school next to the cathedral.
