Inscribed on the back: Demetrios Demetriou, son of Nicolaos Demetriou who was brother and partner in commerce with Demetrios Demetriou grandfather of Helen Stivadoros who is Marcus' grandmother from his father's part. Demetrios was a banker and successor of his father in commerce. He was one of the richest merchants of Cyprus. He was mayor of Larnaca for several years and made great donations for the improvement of the town of Larnaca especially to the Larnaca Hospital. He was president of the chamber in commerce. He was a member of the Embassy who went to England for Enosis and was considered both by Greeks and English as the best and most honest man of Cyprus during the English occupation. Demetrios Demetriou's mother was Domna nee [?] Limassol. Demetrios was consul of Denmark and was succeded by his nephew, Nicos.
