Description:
Surrounded by humble houses with red tiled roofs, stands Famagusta Cathedral. The watercolour allows only a partial view of the edifice. It is a solid building of local yellow sandstone built in the gothic style. The right tower now bears a tall minaret added by the Ottomans in 1572. The artist has achieved a brightly lit effect which is reflected by the white wash houses, the paleness of the blue cloudy sky, and the soft brown of the Cathedral
