Festive Moments 2025: Melusine is coming!

The first queen of Cyprus, Melusine, is visiting the Centre of Visual Arts and Research (CVAR) for the festive season. Through her stories, we learn about the three centuries during which Cyprus was a French kingdom.

Children visit medieval castles and are transformed into subjects of the Royal Court. They meet Melusine, the first Queen of Cyprus, a beautiful girl who carries a strange curse.

Her story begins in distant France, where she falls in love with Prince Raymond, a brave and kind man. However, curiosity and doubt lead her away from her family.

Our young courtiers follow her journey to Cyprus, learning about the era of Frankish rule and discovering how legends are connected to the island's history.

In the end, they are inspired by her magical form and create their own Melusine, using imagination, colours, and sparkle! A fairy-tale workshop that combines art, storytelling, and history, using joy, light, and creativity!
