The Centre of Visual Arts & Research (CVAR) is seeking a dynamic and highly organised individual to join our team as Communications Coordinator and Front Desk Personnel. This dual role is ideal for someone passionate about cultural engagement, visitor services, and digital communications.
Key Responsibilities
Communications Coordination (approx. 60% of role):
- Coordinate and implement CVAR’s communication strategy across digital and print platforms
- Manage social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) and produce engaging content
- Prepare and distribute newsletters, press releases, and event announcements
- Update the museum’s website and ensure consistency across communication materials
- Assist with media relations, promotional campaigns, and event outreach
Front Desk & Visitor Services (approx. 40% of role):
- Welcome visitors, provide information about exhibitions, and offer guided assistance as needed
- Manage daily front desk operations, including answering phone/email enquiries and processing admissions or shop sales
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the reception area and public-facing spaces
- Provide support during public events and assist with coordination tasks
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Greek and English
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Comfortable with social media tools, Mailchimp, Canva, basic WordPress or CMS platforms
- A team player with a positive attitude and a genuine interest in the arts, history, and public engagement
- Strong organisational skills
Desirable
- Previous experience working in a museum, gallery, or cultural institution
- Basic design skills (e.g., Adobe Suite or similar)
- Knowledge of additional languages is a plus
