Did you Know? Commemorative Plates

In 1925 when Cyprus became officially a crown colony, the Staffordshire potteries produced a series of commemorative plates called the “Cyprus Plate” to celebrate the event. Amongst them, the Royal Doulton pottery created some beautiful designs inspired by the colours of our land, the olive trees, the orange trees, and the crops of Mesaoria. Samples of these plates can be seen on the first floor of CVAR.

The ‘Did You Know’ series is made possible with the support of OPAP (Cyprus) and the Active Citizens Fund.
