International Museum Day 2026: Free Tour

CVAR is proudly participating in the International Museum Day 2026, which will explore the theme “Museums Uniting a Divided World”, focusing on how museums can act as bridges across cultural, social, and geopolitical divides, fostering dialogue, understanding, inclusion, and peace within and between communities worldwide.

Located in the heart of Nicosia’s old town, minutes away from the Green Line, with a long-standing goal of peace and unity, CVAR knows this theme well. As a bi-communal non-profit organisation, CVAR understands the importance of accessible knowledge, understanding of identity and culture, and connection across generations, communities, and borders, as the International Council of Museums (ICOM) emphasises.

Rather than erasing differences, museums create the conditions in which they can be understood and respected. By safeguarding heritage and memory, offering opportunities for learning and reflection, and providing welcoming spaces for diverse voices, museums foster dialogue, inclusion, and peace.

It is with great pleasure, then, that we will be offering a free tour of the Centre of Visual Arts and Research on 16 May 2026, 14:00, guided by our own Dr Rita Severis.
